Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Last Friday, the 2nd grade classes went to Angels Stadium for a tour.  We got there a little early but we ate up our sack lunches and then were able to put together a fun baseball game of Parents vs. Students! I was very impressed with all the parents/grandparents and their willingness to play (THANK YOU!) as well the students and their skills!  We then began our tour through the stadium! Here is a cool video Pastor Steve made of our day. Check it out!

Again, thank you parents for driving and thank you students for behaving so well!  It was a great day!

The Spelling Bee was last Wednesday and I was very proud of our 3 finalists.  Connor, Anthony and Sage represented our class and did a great job!  It was fun to hear everyone in the audience hold their breath as the students from each grade spelled out their words.  Here are some pictures of our 3 super spellers!  (I think Sage had his game face on!)
I was so proud of how well our class sat quielty during the entire Spelling Bee!

The Last Two Weeks...

The last two weeks have flown so here are some pictures of what we have been up to in 2nd grade!

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather and taking every opportunity to soak up some sunshine.  Here we are writing our spelling words.

After learning about Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension, we made a craft that represents Jesus going up into heaven and one day coming back!

Paul's birthday was last Monday so we drew her a birthday crown!

Some of our students made it to Talent Show, which will be this Friday evening (April 26th)

In science, we are learning about animals and how God made each one special.

We read about earthworms and even ate some gummy worms!

On Thursday, we read about the beaver and how God made their back webbed so that they could swim fast.  We put a plastic bag on our hands and felt what it would be like to have webbed hands!

I told Aidan to make a 'beaver face' and this was it! :)

We finished up our beaver lesson outdoors!

Just look at these awesome students being so focused!
